"Loki, unfortunately, I am no good at baking, and due to me being dead, I am even worse at it. I was unable to make you a cake, but I do hope that you will accept this instead. It is a copy of one of the books from the library that we met in when you came to my world. A book of my world’s magic, and if I’m not mistaken, you’re interested in such topics." Rose held the large book out to Loki, her hands weighed down by its size. "I know that it seems petty after the first thousand years, but happy birthday Loki."
Loki carefully took the book within his hands, marveling at it in awe. His collection of magical text was quite vast, it was true, and learning about new magic was one of the very purest forms of joy that could enter his life. To be given such a gift… He’d forgotten what it was like to have a true friend, one that actually knew him well enough to give him such a thoughtful gift. “Wow, this is incredible,” he whispered in shock and excitement. “I’ve never seen anything like this… Or expected even. Truly, this is too much, Rose. How could I possibly thank you?”
